Orangeburg Drain Pipe

There were and are roots in the pipe under the street - the lateral from the main line is clay, and roots are there. In this city, the homeowner is responsible for the lateral and if there is a problem that needs to have the street torn up for access, the owner pays for this.

Another example of govt sticking their noses into and spending our tax money where it doesn't belong. Locally, I just saw a sign for county provided free paper shredding services. What's next? Tuck me in at night, put a candy on my pillow?

If they can't afford the house, then they should sell it. Not have govt decide to take money out of my pocket to benefit them. These programs sound wonderful, until you realize that we are paying for it and that they wind up full of waste, fraud, and abuse and with a bunch of govt jobs to run them.

Thanks for the follow-up. Interesting information.

If there really is no root problem, then my idea of signing up for the sewer line protection plan that I had suggested may not be needed.
