How can you tell if there is sludge in the bottom of your oil barrel and can you suck it out with an auxiliary pump or something?
You call your oil company and ask for your tank to be inspected...
Be lucky you don't have a huge underground tank, those tend to get all sorts of stuff in them like sand and grass, etc. if you are not very careful when the tank is being filled or measured with a dipstick to see how much oil is left...

Oil Barrel? Do you mean diesel oil, heating oil, canola oil for cooking, plese be at least a little more specific. You post here often enough to know better.
