moffat dryer

model #: MDL1040SW419 i recently aquired a moffat dryer from a relative they said it works fine, but it has a problem blowing out lint..i don't have a manual for the dryer but the lint trap looks to be in ok condition. i also have a question on the temperature of it it doesn't seem to be getting hot enough to dry. its warm air, but not hot enough to dry, i have to put it on a couple times to get it to dry the clothes. is there a control i can to adjust this inside the control panel? or what can i do? thanks Matt

please email me back at or in the news group is fine! THANKS! rorytate AT cogeco DOT ca

Is it sealing properly in its holder? Is it the right one for that model??

No, the only heat control you have would be a knob on the *front* of the console panel.

Your model was made by GE. Most GE dryers use a double element coil. If one of those 2 coils have failed, you will not be able to get full heat. BTW. If one needs to be replaced, change both at the same time.

Other possibilities may be a malfunctioning thermostat or the thermostat not sensing the proper temperature (maybe because of poor air flow like the lint filter not installed correctly? or lint is stuck all over it).

Poor venting to the outdoors can also cause poor drying. You can read about dryer venting at the following link:
