Read the warranties. Some are worthless.
For example, Pergo guarantees that their floor can handle household
moisture..... but any surface water must be removed with in 30 minutes
or its void. So if you don't notice that you dripped a glass of water
until 2 hours later you are screwed if the floor has a problem.
On the other hand Mannington says their floors are can handle normal
spills etc and the only thing they don't guarantee is the type of
accidental flooding normally covered by homeowner's insurance.
Don't take my word for it... read them for yourself. Mannington
covers labor if the floor was professionaly installed. Some others do
I'm buying a Mannington floor but there are some other good ones out
there with real warranties like Mannington.
