kenmore model 110 dryer LOUD BUZZ

a kenmore model 110 dryer came with a house we recently bought and it makes an un-bearingly loud buzz when a load if finished. but there doesn't seem to be any way to turn it off. on the front, it has "SIGNAL" and it just has "automatic end of cycle" printed...no switch or button or dial or anything.

this thing is driving us crazy...how can we turn off/disable the buzz? the exact model number is:

110.62602100

any help would be great...thanks,

-L

Hi Luke,

The only way to defeat this one's to pull a wire off. Either remove the console rear cover, or, if the dryer's a pain to pull away from the wall, snap off the 2 console end caps and you'll see 2 phillips screws that release the console. Pull console fwd, rotate it upward to clear the rear hooks, then swing it down onto the cabinet top.

Remove the console's rear cover and you'll see the little bugger - er, buzzer, next to the timer. A small box with two wires attached, mounted with one screw. Pull one of the wires off & tape it, and you'll eliminate the annoyance.

Hope that helps.

God bless,

Pull out the plug, open up the top panel and disconnect one of the wires to the buzzer. Tape over the end of the wire. Put everything back together, Plug it back in.

Hi,

Access the consol ( through the back is easiest ) and with the power off remove and tape up one of the buzzer ( this is what it will look like

) wire ends so it won't touch anything.

That will stop the buzzer.
