The broadcasters were wetting themselves this morning in their attempts to diss the Greeks, revelling in the Schadenfreude, yet there has not so far been much movement in the money markets. Indeed, the oil price fell, with Brent crude futures dropping 2%. Crisis? What crisis?
My take is that the meeja, as ever, is talking up the Greek problem to make yet another imaginary mountain out of a relatively small (given Greece's insignificance in the world economy) molehill.

I understood one of the pundits on Charlie Rose to have said that a settlement is in the interests of both sides:
- For Greece: on the Drachma, things are going to be much harder for the population than they would be with even the most stringent cutbacks called for by the EU.
- For the EU: with Greece just kind of floating around out there, there would be a security issue with Russia "coming to their aid"...
