Installing replacement windows now

I have gone ahead and gotten 14 replacement windows for my house to replace the old single pane windows.

My question is about caulking. Every tube of caulk I picked up in Home Depot says not to use it below 40° F. Well, it's only 25° out now, so what can I use. Is there a caulk that's ok to use below 40°?

Thanks

What do you mean? Please, do explain. I will be replacing two windows this spring. Thanks.

you should be using silicone instead of caulking.

Did you have bad luck with HD...or the windows? If it was the windows, were they the American Craftsman windows? What happened to them?

I've installed three AC windows over the summer, and have been pleased with them so far. The install was easy...and they work just fine. I know they are not the best replacement windows around. But, they seem to be well constructed and carry a lifetime warranty.

Thanks for the tip on finding caulk...I'll check into it tomorrow.

Sorry you had such trouble. It took 12 days to get my windows in. There were

9 special order ones, and 5 standard size, in-stock windows. All the windows are standard size, but they are not all stocked at HD. Anyhow, 8 had the grilles in them, the rest did not. Everything was correct....I was kinda suprised.

I got some caulk from a local siding store....good to 0°F. Got 6 windows installed yesterday.

Thanks for the help, Scott
