How to Paint Over Marble?

What is the best method for painting over marble (window ledges in this case)?

it'll be hard to do so. it'll be far easier to replace them first with wood. i would guess you'd have to use some sort of epoxy paint, like they do with garage floors. the prep for this includes using acid to etch the surface.

Thanks for the advice. Based on that info I'll consider replacing the marble ledges with wood rather than painting the marble.
