Do you have a tankless WH in your boiler?

What type of system do you have? Is the hot water and the heat from the same boiler? If so, it is the water being heated causing the problem. Even though the circulating pump is not running, the hot water will rise. Same idea as hot air rises. This is wasting money to heat it and if you have AC, making that work harder to cool it. Check for any valves that can be closed to stop the water from circulating. Some systems have a sort of check valve to prevent this.
