generator no output

During the little storm that ravaged/flooded Cecil County, MD my generator (Generac 7000XL) stopped outputting.

The generator was kept under a deck to limit rain, but at the time it stopped functioning, the rain was going sideways and we were experiencing ~2"/hr.

The motor itself, an electric start, fires right up and chugs along, just no output. The circuit breakers aren't tripped. There is no output from any of the sockets.

Does anyone know of an online trouble shooting guide, or have some advice on what to look at first?

That is one thing they say not to do is get it wet. XL has regulated power right? Try taking off the control panel where the outlets are and see if power is going from the gen to the regulator unit. Could be the gen head, regulator, or a visible short. Could even be the circuit breaker and other things. I have a 7500 EXL and this is a guess since you say it stopped while running. Call generac on the 800# Try Alt . Energy. Homepower They need to be run at a maximum of 6 mo or they can loose magnitism and be dead.and need Flashing.
