I appreciate the lead and will be taking back my 25 year old one with the bad threads back tomorrow AM to my local Sears. It actually turned out to be a good thing that their website was outrageously slow, cluttered and useless and I would have to buy a lot more stuff to qualify. It took three times around to figure out why the coupon code wouldn't "take." That's a damn shi++ty website, my friend, but I am glad. Now I get to buy it locally (I hope they're not out of stock!!!).

I've been meaning to take the bad hose back and now I'll get two new ones so it was a very good lead in the long run. I've never seen a worse website, though. I won't be going back considering how easy it is to buy much of the same stuff from Amazon with a few clicks, even on a slow dial-up connection. Plus, Amazon flips me at least three free MP3's a day and out of the 50 I downloaded, two of them are actually worth listening to! (-:

Thanks again for the pointer, Oren. It's off to Sears in the morning. Finally I can use my pressure washer without getting whizzed on by the bad connection. Twenty five years is long enough. Today, the compressor or fan in my 22 year old Fedders A/C seized up. Does Fedders even exist anymore?

I ran it every summer, not even covered in the winter (it would probably still be working if it did). No doodads, remotes or frills. They don't build 'em like that anymore. Replaced it with two smaller units that add up to the same BTU rating. Ninety eight dollar specials at Wal-mart. So far, so good!
