On the subject of offgrid driers, I expect it would make more sense to use solar heat, either passing solar hot air through a standard drier, or else putting a rotating drum or even just clothes line in the solar heater itself.

Nobody said anything about "average", just "modern". We generally used the maximum spin for cottons like towels and undies, never noticed any creasing.

My sears unit runs at 1000 rpm, very little water left in the clothes, no creasing.
