Compressor Issue Lennox Central Air

I have Lennox central air unit that is not quite 3 years old yet. The compressor motor is not turning on. The inside and outside fan both
run but all you hear outside is a little "errrr" sound that lasts for about 5 seconds. Sounds like the compressor is trying to turn on but won't. Is there anything that I can do to about this or is this pretty much a service technician problem

Most likely a bad run capacitor. Could be a stuck compressor also, might need a hard start kit.

It is something you should call a tech for. I would check and see if maybe it is in warranty as it is not that old. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ spam protection measure, Please remove the 33 to send e-mail

Great description of a stuck compressor. Call a couple HVAC companies. Try to make the noise for the person who answers the phone. Good for a laugh. And you might meet some very nice people this way.
