Advice for floor job problems

I'm not sure if I am being too picky or if I should expect more from the floor contractor that recently installed Amtico flooring in our kitchen.

In some areas, there are noticable ripples and the seams of the underlayment (which they installed) show through when viewed on angle. They also did a pretty poor job leveling one area that they said in advance would NOT be a problem.

The floor wasn't cheap - about 4K installed - so I feel it should look perfect. I am going back to speak with them. Am I asking too much or should you expect some amount of defect with this type of flooring?

Not what I meant to say, but you get the idea :)

Underlayment should not show at all that is the reason it is used to provide a smooth level surface to put the material on. The leveled area should be level. I would have them fix it. Hopefully you have given them no more than

50%

Well, I'm not sure how much I actually gave them :) I put 25% down and financed the rest - through a 3rd party lender that the store used. So, the store actually got 100%, which I assume means that I'm screwed if they don't want to make things right.

Amtico is good flooring, underlayment should make it smooth, talk to your lender, it should look great if not you deserve compensation or a repair.
