Is there any trick to replacing the trap? Does it need to be done by a pro or can I do it myself?
My trap is cracked and leaking, see pics:

It's no big deal...
To make it simple, get the OEM trap. Just make sure to put water in it... or it could cause a failure, till it gets filled up.
And put a cap on the clean-out.

.Thanks. Do you know -- for a Lennox G41 furnace, is this the right trap? I am having a hard time determining which trap model # to buy. It's not listed in the furnace manual.
No cleanout on an OEM trap.
look at the pics the guy posted
It's after the trap.. it isn't going to effect the operation.

Yes, that's the correct trap.

What does your Lennox dealer say about it?

Just to follow up, I read the lennox manual on the exhaust piping, and indeed my exhaust pipe was NOT extend 10-12 inches past the inlet pipe. I attached a 12 inch PVC extention and have not see the error code since. However, a bunch of water still drains out of the furnance after it shuts down. Not sure if this is normal/ the way lennox designed it? Weather is supposed drop in a few days, so I see if I get water in the inducer fan again on those longer furnance runs.

The extension isn't going to solve your drain problem.
Sure it will, but first he has to replace the thermostat. bahahaha Bubba
I'll tell you something... it's hardly ever the thermostat. But when it is the thermostat, I think of you guys. (I think to myself), I tell the client the thermostat is bad, but that isn't the whole problem! LOL Went on a service where the furnace had an intermittant ignition problem. The blower was also running constantly. The stat was in the auto position. I unhooked the "g" wire from the board and the blower shut off, reconnect and turns back on... off to tested the stat, yep, it's bad... I feel so much like a HO when I tell them the stat is bad.... LOL
Now there you just went and ruined a "good" thing. :-) Now what am I goina tell em? (I know. How about, "Its almost always the furnace circuit board?") Bubba
Nawww..... its the HSI.... if its real brittle and cracks easy, its bad :-)
It's always the air filter... then you hear, what air filter? :-)
KJPRO & Steve,
THANK you both for your help. I bought a new trap off ebay for $18 shipped, a couple of fittings from home depot for $0.50 and installed everything in 10 minutes. Piece of cake. Simple job and it saved me about $300. The local Lennox dealer wanted $85 to look at it, $85 for the part, and another $135 to install & "test" it.
That $300 may have meant the difference between one of your local contractors keeping his doors open or not. Thanx for not supporting your local economy and possibly putting another family on the streets in the process.
Holy shit Steve, if 300 bucks is gong to make or break a business they are already too far gone.
Thats why there are 19,000 HVAC contractors that go out of business every year.
