Interested in adding remote indoor sensor to Honeywell visionPRO t'stat.

Hi there,
I need to change the thermostat for an second story heat pump. I will change it out for a setback/auto changeover. I was looking at the 3/2 stage Honeywell visionPro model and noticed it had the ability to interface with a remote indoor sensor. Where the t'stat is mounted now, the majority of the space stays pretty comfortable, but two back bedrooms stay 5-6 degrees colder than the rest of the cooled/heated space. Do you have any idea if the remote temp sensor might balance the temp better? I may just need to move the t'stat location, it is at the top of an open staircase from the kitchen area, I suspect the heat from downstairs/kitchen may be fooling the upstairs thermostat somewhat. I'm no longer in the trade, but ran commercial refrigeration for 10 years. Thanks for the advice.

You ran commercial refrigeration for 10 years and you're unsure if adding a remote temp sensor will help balance your duct system? Purely amazing!

What a smart smart person you are!! You don't run duct work for commercial refrigeration. You are a "PRO" jerk....

C'mon dude,.......think. What on earth is moving a thermostat going to do to a whole home temp requirements? All you are going to do, is maintain the temp where the thermostat or remote is located. Pretty simple, eh? Now if you want you can do a thermostat with multiple remotes which will average the temps but that gets a bit costly for resi needs. Its all in the duct work. Get that balanced properly and you will be happy and comfortable. Bubba

CJE had written this in response to http://www.thestuccocompany.com/hvac/Interested-in-adding-remote-indoor-sensor-to-Honeywell-visio-33980-.htm :
Adding a remote sensor will not solve the issue which is an air flow balancing issue. But adding a remote sensor to those rooms will help disguise the problem.
You will have to set the thermostat up to average all the readings - rather than just sense from one area.
What sort of refrigeration did you do? And where?
