If I buy a split AC system (about 9,000 btu) online, what are chances that a registered electrician who has never installed such a system can install it successfully? Thanks. Ed

Slim & none.
PS- Slim's in Texas
If you were a pipefitter instead of an electrician you could do it.
absoloutely totally zero.
Actually, it would likely be illegal for him to do so, as he wouldn't have a EPA certification to handle refrigerants.
One can buy re-charged lineset.
Actualy, you can do any damn thing you want..but here it would still be illegal.
