Fan Runs Constantly in Heat Mode

I installed a White Rodgers 1F95-1271 and it has proven to run correctly in all ways but one...maybe? When it is set to heat the fan runs constantly? Can anyone tell me if this is a normal operation in some thermostats?

I've read that constantly running the fan/blower has its benefits in the winter for even heat throughout the home. When my target heat is reached I can confirm that the fan in the heatpump system outside stops and the heatpump stops humming, but the fan inside keeps going.

Yes, the problem is actually worse then I thought. After the heat cuts off the fan continues to run and it still gets warmer. I think that since I see the heatpump stop the electric furnace must be running emergency heat.

I'm going to call White Rodgers tomorrow but and as if the problem might be from this line in the install manual.

"Note: If your system does not provide an E connection, jumper W2 to W/E to use the Auxiliary Heat in the Emergency Mode"

My HVAC system did have a E wire going to an E terminal in the old thermostat. But the White Rodgers tech guy told me to jump W2 and W/E and connect the E wire to the W/E terminal.

Maybe I shouldn't have jumped them?

Maybe you should call a tech before your cause any more problems with the system??

You better call a qualified technician to diagnose your system and perform needed repairs, servicing, and maintenance. You are likely very near burning your house down at present.

Don't mess with stuff you don't have the training to work on.

Noon-Air tried to get things rollin' but couldn't hold out for too long. Notice the scare tactic, threatening the ol' pocketbook.

Then, Oscar_Lives chimed in with this tidbit of wisdom: Notice the scare tactic common amongst the Teckies, I even got this one with an earlier post. Notice the "servicing and maintenance" pitch, that's the long term hook.

Then rfofaky closed the deal for the local HVAC crooks:with this astounding observation.:

Once again the boys at alt.hvac are at it again. Your all so desperate to keep the masses ignorant. You don't care which Tech gets the contract as long as the HomeMoaner is left in the dark.

At least Noon-Air gave it his best with the, "it's not normal" observation...jeeze.

Nope. We just want the homoaner to get it fixed soon, because if he doesn't, he's likely to burn down his house and kill his children in their sleep. That would be less future customers for us.

Yep, and they will keep doing it. After all, it took most of these brainiacs 10 years to learn how to correctly wire a thermostat.......only fitting that they would treat it like a highly guarded trade secret! Probably best for the OP anyway, 'cause they don't know the first thing about the electric requirements of HVAC equipment. Not the first one of them can produce an HVAC schedule from a set of blueprints, simply because they have never seen one or know what the f*ck one is. Most of these wizards couldn't make it in the trade or get hired by real HVAC contractors, so they became self- appointed "contractors" or finally passed an exam after taking it 5 or

6 times. Thus, the learning curve dropped off rapidly and they remain in a state of ignorance. That's why the angry, adolescent behavior. It's downright pitiful when they compare themselve's to MD's and PhD Chemists . They desperately have a need to be called professionals, yet have no idea what behavior a real professional exhibits. If you want a good laugh, just take a look at this board from last June when they pissed off the wrong "homoaner."
