fan blower runs continually

I have an old forced air natural gas home heater. THe fan will run continually. If I gently tap the meatl housing near the fan limit switch the blower shuts off. Is the fan limit getting stuck?

Dunno without seeing it.... How old is your Jurrasic furnace?? When was the last time it was serviced by a competent, licensed tech??

Nope, the answer is not "forever".

The fan is probably controlled by a relay on a control board. That would be the first place to look for sticking. The contacts gets rough and stick together. You need some electrical troubleshooting skills, a multimeter, and the wiring diagram specific to your furnace to get started. If you do not already have pretty good electrical troubleshooting skills, your gas furnace is not the place to start getting them. Call a service guy.

Ok, The "board" where the relay(s) are mounted. The subleties of if the furnace actually has electronic control components (I agree not likely) would be lost on the guy posting. Doesn't really change what he needs to do.

Ok, you win. You're old as dirt. They made the duct work out of stone back then too, right? Wasn't Wilma hot?

It sure does. You've got him looking for some sort of fan control board with a relay. He needs a new fan/limit. But really....he needs a new furnace....30 years old...no telling what the exchanger looks like, not to mention it's 50 to 55% fuel efficient.

And you are still a fucking retard. You arent in the business and you have no clue what you are talking about as is painfully evident. Are you Stormys long lost sister? "board/relay on a freaking 30 yr old furnace." You are dumber than a box of rocks ......James Bubba
