We're offering quite a bit more, but not for mouth-breathers.
Better luck next time.
If we ever have need of a human pipe stand, I'll be sure and post it here for you to see.

Well, now that Bubba broke the ice. What's your general pay scale and benefits package run? No need for anyone to send a resume if you aren't going to pay them more than they are getting now.

As is always the case, pay is negotiable after qualifications are determined. We need a top notch person and we are not in a big hurry about finding him. When we do, the pay will be very good, indeed. No way am I going to post a salary offer on usenet.
Our techs' total compensation package is better than any of the area mechanical contractors or HVAC service companies are paying, and is competitive with Johnson and Siemens--and that's not counting insurance and company vehicle.
This usenet approach was just a spur-of-the-moment idea of mine. I do not have high hopes that it will produce much. After all, look what it's produced already: "Bubba". But you never know...

this group than you will ever hope to see. Personally, I wouldnt lower myself to your piss poor package. If it were that good, you would have mentioned in your first post what it offered. You are just another blow-hard trying to dangle a carrot and it didnt work. Now go away. Go toss your fish bait down out the local unemployment office. You'll probably find more qualifications there than the grunts you have at the office now. Bubba

8 years ago I tangled with a company in Michigan that was trolling here to fill a position, it turned out to be a very lucritave consulting job... lasted for about 6 months before the job was complete. After they paid all my travel, lodging, rent-a-beast, perdiem, and expenses, I still made $3600 per week. The first question is.... how bad do you want to fill that position?? The second question is.... where on the gulf coast as there isn't much left in New Orleans, Pass Christian, or Gulfport.

This job doesn't pay $3.6k/wk ;)
...but it's a permanent position.

Don't know what that means, exactly. We have need of a person who is skilled in the design, commissioning and integration of DDC systems using multiple protocols and media. In addition, he must have the basics that a good control man has: a thorough understanding of control theory, electricity, mechanical systems and the construction project environment.
That is a high powered individual--we understand that. We are going to spend considerable time and effort to find the right one. The person we hire will be an integral part of our business and will have considerable influence on the technical directions we take.

It's on the central Gulf Coast, right? We have hurricanes here, as you have noticed. My power has been knocked out by tropical storms a dozen times in the last 15 years; a week by Ivan, 3 days by Katrina. That's why I have a 15KW generator at my house.
But our office is 190' above sea level; there are plenty of places around here to live that are well above the high water mark. If you want to live at the beach, it's at your own risk!

Dan, If you're not paying anywhere around $3.6K /wk then your pay is NOT Outstanding. I worked for a large firm for 2 yrs and made 5 and 6K per week. NOT every week. Just a few weeks. 2 and 3K a week was simple to do. A good week in sales, lots of spiff pays and lots of hours (72/wk to be exact) made for the huge pay. This was as a selling tech in a resi hvac market. Pretty simple stuff and made that kind of silly money. So DONT come in here saying you are offering outstanding pay when you are only offering average pay. You can keep your position. Doesnt even sound the least bit interesting. Bubba

you know Dan, I would think that most every progressive, forward thinking controls contractor in america is looking for that very same person.
would your company offer such a person profit sharing on sales over an established value?
will you pay all relocation expenses?
