How is the reliability of Rheem gas furnaces and outdoor AC units for
a split sytem? Need to replace the builder grade "Jani-Junk" system
(real tired of fixing it)!

You'll get tired of fixing ANY system, till you get someone that installs a
system correctly.

supposedly according to Consumer Reports, Rheem is rated second only
to American Standard.  As a commercial contractor I can purchase any
brand I want, and will still reccommend Rheem products for residential
above trane carrier york or lennox.

Now, picture in your mind your "Jani-Junk" system.
Think long and hard about the duct system, as it too needs complete
replacement, and quite possibly upsizing to accomodate higher
efficiency equipment.

It very well could be the existing duct system is Junking your Jani
faster the the manufacturer designed it to self destruct...

Good points, I believe the existing system is undersized anyway, which
is hard on everything...I'm sure a manual J was done when the house
was built(wink) Thanks for the info!

What makes you think it's undersized?
