Can anybody suggest a good gardening gift? Or a company I could have a look into?

Kate: I have a suggestion for the gardener in your life who already has just about every gardening tool, etc. My new novel, TIME IN A GARDEN, has been very well received by gardeners--it ranked second in paperback sales in Northern Michigan, for example.

It is laced with gardening wit and wisdom. It tells the story of a group of senior citizens who band together to plant a community garden in an attempt to revive their dying rural town. In the process, gardening becomes a metaphor for the changes that all experience as we advance in years. The gardening crew grows together as they experience love and loss.

The novel is available from amazon.com, barnes and noble and lulu.com. You can read an excerpt at these sites and learn more about my publications.

TIME IN A GARDEN is a very different kind of gift for a gardener. I know it will be appreciated and received as a thoughtful and loving gift. Thanks for reading.

You asked for a suggestion of a company. Have you visited the website? If the intended gift recipient cannot shop online, I'm sure Gardener's would send out a printed catalog. There is also

and several others I'm sure. And a gift certificate is good if you do not know for certain of a specific need. I suppose most gardneers would alos like a GC from a store like Lowe's or HD or a local nursery.

How far do you live from the recipient? Same town?

Many gardening tools, especially those for weeds, are off-season now and offered at a discount in this time of year. Do a Google search for "weed tools", "weed pullers" or "weed twisters" to search for these tools.

Depending on the area, many people need tools for weeding even in December!

Happy weed tool shopping!
