For anyone curious about Pawpaws, a native American fruit, there will be an interesting lecture at the Chicago Botanic Garden on Feb. 7 at 2 PM in Glencoe Illinois. Access is off of Eden's Highway at Lake Cook Road on the East side. The lecture is given by Ken Drabik, a biologist at the U. of Chicago. He is a frequent presenter and speaker at the annual Ohio Pawpaw Festival held each September near Albany, Ohio. He works closely with Pawpaw experts Dr. Kirk Pomper of Kentucky State U. and Neal Peterson of Peterson Pawpaws. Admission to the lecture is free, but there is a charge for parking. The Botanic Garden is worth a visit, even in the Winter, so come early to look around.
