Disgusting Potato Bugs and Dead Nettle

Has anyone had any luck getting rid of the rotten Colorado potato beetle by planting Dead Nettle? I have read that planting dead Nettle will help and was wondering if anyone has tried this. So far I've been picking the bugs and eggs off (a kind of disgusting chore) but was considering inter-planting dead nettle as a remedy.

It's very hard to hate bugs and pesticides all at the same time.

We've got lots of dead nettle (lamium) planted in our shade gardens. But it's a perennial and will slowly spread over your entire garden. A pretty plant with a long blooming period, but it seems a shame to plant it every year and then rip it up.

I have no idea if it repels any insects - I've never seen any reference that says it does.

OTOH, one might invest a little time and effort into actual newsreading software which allows selective quoting, as an alternative to promoting a commercial website for no good reason.

Looks like another reposting site, like gardenbanter, only less competent.
