Hi
Im looking to remove a downstairs internal wall that will leave an opening of 72 inches which will need a RSJ installing to hold the first floor wall up.
Does anybody have any ideas on what size RSJ i`ll need to span this sort of gap?. The wall above requiring support is 9" solid brick

You will need building reqs for this one and calculations. The calculations must show that the RSJ is man enough for the job and these are normally draw up by a structual engineer.
