Plumbing for Fridge\Freezer with Ice\Chilled Water

I am having my kitchen fitted and it includes one of these side-by-side american fridge\\freezers with chilled water and ice dispenser.

So it has to be plumbed into the cold water supply.

The kit included a Filter kit which includes a filter and a long length of

1/4" plastic tube which uses push fits into the filter and into the back of the fridge\\freezer.

But at the water end it will need an adapter to take it from 1/4" push fit to standard appliance screw valve.

The instructions are a great deal of help because they show pictures of the various styles of filter kits are possible (we can identify ours) the different adapters you can get. The different options are dependent on whether you have push or screw fits.

Trouble is they don't spell out the contents - we haven't got an adapter - we think we should have one but are not 100% sure.

Obviously I shall have to ring LG tomorrow but that aside anyone here know whether they should be included or not and if not whether they are generic parts you can get from a plumbing centre?

Cheers,

Nigel

mine was supplied with a fitting which fitted a standard service valve, the worst job was persuading the delivery drivers to take the doors off the dammed thing to get it trough a standard back door

Thanks,

Was yours an LG too? If so where did you find the adapter.

Inside the fridge we found a sealed bag with the air filter kit - adapter not in there.

And a sealed bag with the instruction manual - again the adapter wasn't in there.

I've managed to work out what the plumbing range is - it's John Guest stuff so it's not a big deal to buy an adapter but I'd prefer not to.

Sent you an eMail, though I know what the adapter looks like and where it should be fitted.

Just wondering where your adapter was packed - it may be that mine is still in the fridge but I haven't spotted it yet. It is still in the packing in the garage waiting for the fitters to reach the point where they need it. I've unpacked enough to open the fridge door and got the only two things I could see

Sealed bag with filter kit - filter, tubing, two red clips for securing the push-fit connectors Sealed bag with the instruction manual

The two items that I think should be there but I can't see are

1 - Adapter to connect tube to cold water appliance valve 2 - Clips to allow the mounting of the filter to a wall

the filter cable ties to the back of the fridge on mine, and I am pretty sure the adaptors where inside or the fitters brought it as it was delivered and installed by Dixon's it was a few years back PS just emailed you a photo

Yep, contacted LG and they were very good about it. Sending out the bits I am missing.

As far as I can see there are no more bits inside the fridge.

Good to hear - just wanted the thread to be complete for anyone else in the same situation who might stumble upon this! I wish I had a fridge/freezer that did ice/crushed ice/chilled water.
