There is a product called (ironically) "Oops" that is made for removing latex paint spills and drops. Available at paint stores. I'd suggest that you try it sooner rather than later, and that you test it first on a hidden portion of the carpet.
But first try using a flat putty knife on the dried spot and see if it will just pop off. This would work only if it was a small spot and had not soaked into the fiber of the carpet.
Fingernail polish remover with the risk of carpet fading.
