OT: Formica

I am in my first house and my husband and I have been having a ball remodeling a little here and there. Well, it's time to take up the old old OLD formica countertops in the kitchen, and I'm wanting to replace them with a white and black checkerboard pattern (one or two inch squares), and am having a lot of trouble finding this. I know it's out there, but just can't come across it. I've tried formica.com and wilsonart.com, checked under patterns, and can't find anything remotely close. Can anyone help me find this? I'd really appreciate it! Thanks in Advance, Ryanne Kindle

Hi,

not sure if this would meet your need *or* be too hard to implement, but have you considered separate black and white tiles in a size that suits you which you could then be laid out over the countertops as you want. I'm noto capable of doing something like it myself, but I imagine that if some people can tile floors and walls, why not counter tops?

Don't know if it is too far-out as an idea :)

Tile makes a wonder counter top material. Just make sure you use dark grout. I love my tile counters.
