replacing a window with a door, then pouring a patio up against the house foundation. shoud patio be level with threshold, 1" or 6" lower? thanks Phil

No, it should be flush or very slightly below (not level) the concrete that the door's threshold sits on. This way, water can't pool against any part of the door unit. The door's threshold concrete and the new patio should all be slightly pitched downward, so all water runs away from the house..."level" is bad.
