They will cut back on for a few minutes, and continue off and on. I don't know where the oxygen sensor is to clean it.

I didn't know logs had an oxygen sensor. They have a flame sensor. If it were bad the pilot would not stay lit. It sounds like they are cuttin off by the thermostat since the pilot remains lit and the main burner is cycling on and off. If I knew the manufacturer, model number and serial number I could look them up and help you more.
