Is my concrete patio flushed with vinyl home concrete foundation a termite pest problem?

A termite inspector told me my concrete patio flushed against the concrete slab of my vinyl home was an entryway for termites is this really a problem if so and what can I do about correcting the problem??

Sure, any seam area where the building's wood contacts the concrete foundation is a potential entry-point. In fact, once termites smell wood, they'll build hunting and feeding mud-tunnels up a wall. I've seen termite tunnels 3-feet tall running up someone's brick.

- But, do you even have termites in the area, did he find any evidence? If the home has no obvious current termite activity, then the inspector's comment was entirely unwarranted and only a sales-pitch. You just need to keep the termites from finding your wood in the first place.

- Caulk the area in question and this will force any termites into the open and make them construct hunting mud tunnels. Only then, do you get a pest control company to wipe them out not only for yourself, but also for the neighbors.
