I cannot get the today setting to change to the correct day.

I cannot get my Irritrol control station to change to the correct day. It is currently set for Sunday and needs to be changed to Tuesday. I try to use the plus and minus buttons to change it but nothing happens, and yes I have it in the program mode and on the today position. HELP!!
